PM2009 will be held in Copenhagen, DK in middle of October. MEDAV, a German supplier of automated quality testing systems, attends that show as exhibitor and with an oral contribution at the corresponding conference.
Horst Jonuscheit (MEDAV) and Dr. Eberhard Ernst (GKN Sinter Metals Engineering GmbH) conduct their presentation with the title "Quality Control Measures for Automated ART Systems" in Session 32, "Quality & Inspection”, on Wednesday Oct. 14, 2009.
Within that presentation we give an overview on the technical concept for introduction of Acoustic Resonance Testing (ART) method into the production line, and we emphasis organisational and performance issues.
You may have a look on semi automated test beds for typical PM parts, and to discuss dedicated problems in detail on our booth number 70 (close to the main entrance).
MEDAV presents its CrackMaster system which is already introduced to several PM plants. CrackMaster is using the Acoustic Resonance Testing method for automated and non-destructive testing of sintered parts. Cracks, shrink holes, sinter imperfections and other abnormalities, which affect the normal frequencies and normal vibration modes of the items, can be detected by evaluation of (mainly small) changes of these pure physical properties of the items. Influences to the measurement signals caused by the production process can be eliminated or reduced by using or most modern Chameleon method. Chameleon is a statistically based approach to distinguish “good” quality from “bad” quality, with a setup concept without the need of presorted good and bad parts. Applying the "Quality Evaluation Loop", CrackMaster is almost a “black box”, controllable by regular plant workers. We offer operator based work places and fully automated solutions.
